His tests are all over the place and feel as though they don't go over what he taught. i know i didnt love syracuse mostly for personal preference related things, but i will say that though it is not a bad school at all and is esp good socially, it is very pricey for what it is. 10/10 would recommend. Had occasional WTL homework assignments (not hard) and weekly recitation group projects (not hard). She was not accommodating when I had a concussion which screwed me over for my final grade.

She is so laid back and cares about her students health. Martin was a fantastic professor. Very few assignments, attendance isn't mandatory, and class was always casual and fun. She and her TA's are very harsh graders and for an intro class, its just not worth it. Worst class I've ever taken. Simple course just fairly uninteresting. I really enjoyed having her as a teacher. She is extremely accommodating and respects that you have a life outside of class. There were a LOT of long readings but honestly, she goes through them all in class so you don't necessarily need to read them if you are understanding class. No grades for participation/attendance, only graded on 3 essays. She made a huge class of 400 students that can be boring or simple very interesting. A LOT of extra credit and opportunities to boost your grade. Overall amazing professor. A big focus of the class is on the recitation every week since its a group project which is a large part of ur grade, but she gives a lot of extra credit so my grade ended up being over an 100%. Helen Barolini, Chronicler of Italian American Women, Dies at 97 Goes above and beyond to make sure her students are more than successful. Uloop Inc. She makes lectures interesting using modern day examples and student volunteers. Unless you are in one of the top schools, in my opinion, it is just simply not worth it. DiPietro is also funny! great teacher, not a huge fan of psych but her lectures were fun and interesting. Professor Drakes work has been published in the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Urban Education, the Journal of Education for Students Placed at Risk, and several edited volumes. He encourages a classroom that is heavily dialogue-based and this encouraged me to really think about the content I was consuming and how I thought about it/would talk about it. Their lectures are very interesting and they are very understanding, caring and not afraid to challenge their students. Class with him doesn't really feel like a class and is more like a really good open dialogue.
