About

Therapy is all about you.

I’m excited about the journey that is ahead.

Therapy is a journey that, when chosen, can lead from pain to healing.

All week obligations fill our thoughts, our calendars, and our to-do lists. It’s all we talk about. We’re always doing things for others, and it’s overwhelming.

People come to therapy when it’s all too much. Something on the scale—that we try so hard to balance—tips.

The anxiety and exhaustion are palpable. I want you to come and seek relief before it gets to that point.

Clients come to therapy for a variety of reasons:

  • Childhood issues presenting problems in marriage
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Anger from divorce
  • Kids spiraling out of control

Behind all is pain, regardless of what motivated you to search for therapy and find my Web site; we want relief from the pain of our situation.

I can offer a safe, non-judgmental space to tell your story. Through verbalizing your story, I can provide you with perspective, direction, and momentum to keep you moving forward.

About Me

Therapy is a second career as I started out in the business world. After a big unexpected life change, more options were available.

I left a full-time job, so I could spend more time with my son and was substitute teaching on a part-time basis. Every day I would see the “walking wounded” coming to school. It was difficult for them to do well at school because of the issues with which they were dealing at home.

I knew then that I wanted to help make a difference in the lives of children and families. Thus, I enrolled in graduate school!

I graduated from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign with a Master’s degree in Social Work. My experience covers outpatient agencies, in-patient psychiatric facilities, and many years of private practice.

My specialization is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an integrated psychotherapy that is approved to treat trauma. EMDR is also successful in treating many other life challenges that would not necessarily be considered trauma—such as anxiety and phobias.

Having had some traumatic situations in my life, through EMDR therapy I believe everyone can achieve their goals and make it to where you want to be. We can do this together as others have done for me.

Two years ago, my husband and I moved from the Midwest to the Savannah, Georgia, area. We love the warm weather and exploring the new place we call home. Many of the photos on this Web site were taken by my husband.
